Shelly, one of the world's fastest-growing brands in smart home and building automation, is presenting itself at IFA 2025 with numerous innovations, exciting new products, and a clear focus on the next generation of smart devices. Visitors to the booth can look forward to exciting live demonstrations, exclusive insights into new prototypes, and products being shown for the first time. Shelly is thus underlining its claim to make everyday life smarter, safer, and more energy-efficient with powerful and flexible IoT solutions – for end consumers and professional users alike.
New products in focus: Connected, intelligent, future-proof
In addition to further developments of existing series such as the Shelly Wave products, visitors to the IFA can expect new product lines such as the Shelly BLU ZB devices, as well as extensions to the successful Gen3 and Gen4 series (for details, see the "New products" press release).
Also on display for the first time is the Shelly Flood Gen4 – a smart sensor that effectively prevents water damage by immediately detecting leaks and notifying the user via smartphone. Three adjustable alarm profiles and multi-connectivity (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Matter) make it the ideal solution for residential homes, vacation properties, or commercial properties. Also new is the Shelly Wall Display XL with a generous 10.1-inch touchscreen. It offers four freely assignable buttons and can be conveniently integrated into standard flush-mounted boxes – as a central control unit for smart homes, hotels, or commercial spaces. For modern households and offices, Shelly also presents the Shelly Power Strip 4 Gen4: a compact, Matter-certified power strip with four individually switchable and measurable slots. It is compatible with all common automation platforms and ensures smart energy management at the touch of a button. Another highlight is the new Shelly Presence Gen4 sensor. It detects the actual presence of up to six people in up to ten zones – even without detectable movement. This enables particularly precise, energy-efficient automation, for example for lighting or heating control, without false alarms.
Shelly BLU ZB: Maximum compatibility thanks to Bluetooth & Zigbee
With the new Shelly BLU ZB line, Shelly is expanding its proven BLU product family with devices featuring additional Zigbee connectivity. This new generation of devices is specifically designed for users with existing Zigbee setups and enables seamless integration via existing hubs or gateways. By combining Bluetooth and Zigbee, users benefit from quick and easy initial setup and a stable, high-performance connection. The expansion ensures greater compatibility with common standards and offers customers even more integration options.
The portfolio includes the Shelly BLU Remote Control ZB, a smart four-channel remote control with intuitive buttons and a scroll wheel for dimming or controlling roller shutters or lights, the compact and weatherproof Shelly BLU H&T ZB sensor for temperature and humidity, and the versatile Shelly BLU RC Button 4 ZB with up to 16 possible actions and flexible mounting. Other devices include the smart Shelly BLU Door/Window ZB for monitoring doors and windows, including tilt and brightness measurement, the robust, IP54-certified Shelly BLU Button Tough1 ZB, the Shelly BLU Wall Switch 4 ZB with four programmable buttons, and the Shelly BLU H&T Display ZB, which displays temperature and humidity directly on the device and can be flexibly mounted.
LOQED Touch Smart Lock: Keyless convenience, now even smarter
Another highlight at the trade fair stand is the enhanced LOQED Touch Smart Lock – a completely keyless door lock that can be operated via smartphone, PIN code, or touch. The new version features an improved display, quieter operation, and a more robust housing – ideal for modern everyday use and the highest security requirements. The Shelly app allows users to keep track of the door status at all times, conveniently control the lock remotely, and set up time-controlled automations – such as automatic locking in the evening or opening for service providers at defined times. There are plans to expand the product portfolio with additional variants featuring a revised design and a more powerful motor. In addition, matching power kits ensure easy maintenance and provide important replacement parts.
Shelly Gen3 vs. Gen4: Two generations, many possibilities
Visitors to IFA 2025 will have the opportunity to experience the third and fourth generations of Shelly products live and compare them directly with each other. Both series offer extensive features for modern smart home and automation solutions, including 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth for easy setup, scripting and automation options, energy monitoring, KNX support on selected models, and an integrated Wi-Fi range extender function. Simultaneous access point and client operation is supported by both generations.
The new Gen4 in particular takes performance to a new level. This is thanks in part to support for Wi-Fi 6 for faster, more stable connections, more computing power and memory, and multi-protocol capability, including Zigbee and Matter. This makes Gen4 particularly suitable for professional and industrial applications that require maximum compatibility and performance. Gen3, on the other hand, remains the optimal choice for classic, Wi-Fi-based smart homes where Zigbee does not play a role. While Gen3 already offers a very wide range of devices, Gen4 is currently being expanded rapidly – especially with a view to Zigbee-based solutions and new fields of application.
