With nearly 66,000 smart devices switched off, Shelly demonstrates the power of IoT technology for sustainable consumption and real energy impact
On the occasion of Earth Day (April 22), Shelly Group launched a global initiative through its Shelly Smart Control App, encouraging users to take real action toward energy efficiency. The campaign, titled “Earth Day”, united over 26,000 users worldwide who collectively turned off 65,348 smart devices in just one hour.
The result? More than 2 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity saved - an amount equivalent to:
● The average two-month consumption of a household
● Or over 11,000 kilometers driven in an electric vehicle
“This campaign proved that innovative technology, strategic partnerships, and engaged users can create real impact - with just a single tap.”, commented Ivan Zahov, Chief Marketing Officer, Shelly Group
As part of Shelly Group’s long-term ESG Strategy the initiative aligns with Shelly Group’s broader vision. The company is committed to:
● Adopting international sustainability standards
● Investing in renewable energy
● Developing technologies with long-term environmental value
That’s why this campaign is not only symbolic, but contributes to a measurable reduction in carbon footprint, achieved through one simple tap in the Shelly app.
Strategic Partnership with Zendure and Real-World Rewards
As part of the initiative, three participants received prizes provided by Shelly’s campaign partner - Zendure. The award: the cutting-edge Zendure Hyper 2000 energy system with modular AB2000S battery, designed for solar energy storage.
The system is fully compatible with Shelly Pro 3EM, offering:
● Energy independence
● Significant cost savings for end-users
This initiative highlights how technology, sustainability, and user participation can converge to deliver meaningful change.
